FAQ

Dutch Goat Auctions FAQs

Q1: How does the bidding process work for the internet-only auction?
A1: The bidding for our internet-only auction will close on the specified close date, with the first lots closing at 2:00 pm. Lots will close approximately every 5 seconds. This auction uses a soft close, so additional time will be added to the lot until no more bids are received, providing an authentic auction atmosphere.

Q2: Can I preview items in person?
A2: We do not provide in-person previews. However, customers may ask questions or request additional pictures on each lot. Look for the Question Mark next to the bid amount on the lot detail page to request more information.

Q3: When and where can I pick up my winning items?
A3: You can pick up your items at the following times and locations:

  • BURLEY, IDAHO - Thursday & Friday (9 am-6 pm) and Monday (9 am- 3 pm)
  • LEHI, UTAH - Friday (12:00 - 4:45 pm) & Saturday (12:00 - 2:00 pm) in Lehi, UT (inside the Sparkfish Outlet Store)

Q4: What is the policy for returns?
A4: Our return policy varies depending on the item category (Green, Yellow, or Red). Green items can be returned within 14 days for being different than described or for any reason with a $5 restocking fee. Yellow items can be inspected before fulfillment and refused if different than described. Red items are considered "Where is, as is" with no returns or exchanges, and can only be refused if they are listed with an incorrect title or description.

Q5: What happens if I don't pick up my items within the stated times?
A5: Dutch Goat Auctions may charge a $10 non-pick-up/relisting fee for orders not picked up, and the winning bidder will forfeit their right and claim to all property not paid for and fulfilled by the stated pick-up time unless otherwise specified.

Q6: Do you charge sales tax?
A6: Sales tax is applied to the winning price of the item, when applicable—6% for ID and 7.25% for UT. Sales tax is charged based on the pick-up location of the item and also applies to shipped items. Tax-exempt customers may contact us and provide the necessary documents to remove the sales tax.

Q7: What is the buyer's premium for the Weekly Household auctions?
A7: Unless otherwise specified, our Weekly Household auctions have a 0% buyer's premium.

Q8: How do I pay for my winning items?
A8: You will be emailed an invoice for the items you have won within 24 hours of the auction closing. Payment is due upon receipt and required before items will be fulfilled. We accept cash and major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover). Payment can be made in person during pick-up hours or anytime online.

Q9: What is the process for shipping my items?
A9: Customers are responsible for the cost of preparing and shipping their items. The price to ship your order is provided during checkout on most items. You can also contact Dutch Goat to request a shipping quote on specific items before bidding. Payment is required before items are shipped. Local delivery may be offered for select auction orders as a shipping fulfillment method.
